Three Syrian Soldiers Killed, Others Injured in Daraa Explosion of War Remnants
Damascus, April 16 (QNA) - Three Syrian soldiers were killed and others injured Thursday in an explosion at a site containing war remnants in Daraa province, southern Syria.
Local sources reported that three consecutive explosions near the village of Qarfa in the eastern Daraa countryside resulted in the deaths of three soldiers and injuries to others, as well as material damage to the site.
They added that the explosions were accompanied by plumes of smoke rising from the area, and ambulances and fire trucks rushed to the scene.
Syria faces the problem of war remnants, including landmines and unexploded ordnance, scattered across vast areas of its territory.
These remnants cause fatal accidents and serious injuries, and hinder agricultural and economic activities and the return of residents to their homes. Specialized teams continue their efforts to detect and remove these remnants. (QNA)
