Doha, April 14 (QNA) - The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and the "Engineers Without Borders - Qatar" program, which emerged from the Qatar Society of Engineers (QSE), signed Tuesday a joint cooperation agreement aimed at supporting and implementing activities and projects related to the "Engineers Without Borders - Qatar" initiative, and enabling engineering competencies to contribute effectively to serving the community, in a step that enhances national partnerships aimed at supporting humanitarian and development work in Qatar.
The agreement, which includes cooperation mechanisms, technical and administrative support programs and contributes to the development of quality projects within the initiative, was signed on behalf of QRCS by HE Managing Director and Secretary-General of QRCS Eng. Ibrahim Hashim Al Sada, and on behalf of QSE by HE Chairperson of the Board of Directors of QSE Eng. Amna Mohammed Al Naama.
This agreement comes within the framework of the professional, voluntary and humanitarian efforts undertaken by both parties, which enhances the implementation of initiatives with a sustainable societal and humanitarian impact. It also aims to provide quality humanitarian services in areas of joint work in which both parties are specialized, such as providing highly experienced engineers to provide technical and engineering consultations to supervise the implementation of field projects, quality control, technical training and the provision of specialized engineering consultations, in addition to empowering communities and humanitarian institutions through sustainable engineering solutions.
Marking the occasion, HE Eng. Ibrahim Hashim Al Sada highlighted that signing this agreement comes as an important step to deepen partnerships with various active entities in the country, including the QSE, which plays a pivotal role in serving the community, indicating that this cooperation reflects the shared commitment to collective work in order to achieve an impact that makes a real difference.
His Excellency emphasized the significant impact of the "Engineers Without Borders - Qatar" program in enabling specialized volunteer work and enhancing the development process in the country. He indicated that the integration between humanitarian and volunteer work and work in the field of engineering would achieve a qualitative leap in serving communities.
For his part, Director of the Engineers Without Borders program and QSE Board Member Eng. Khalid AbdulRahim Al Sayed considered the signing of this agreement with an important strategic partner such as the QRCS, an important qualitative leap that contributes to creating a qualitative shift and a new concept of volunteer work based on a scientific foundation, especially since the engineers volunteering in the program have scientific and practical experiences that contribute to raising the status of the nation through an advanced urban renaissance.
The agreement also seeks to promote a culture of volunteer work among engineers and to implement projects and initiatives within the framework of the "Engineers Without Borders" program previously launched by the QSE.
The program is one of the qualitative QSE' initiatives as it aims to provide specialized engineering services to support humanitarian and development projects, provide engineering consultations, manage projects, design innovative solutions, train personnel and build capacities, in addition to dedicating engineering volunteer work by involving engineers in developing projects and raising their efficiency.
This agreement is based on a shared vision aimed at improving the quality of life of individuals through sustainable engineering solutions. Areas of joint cooperation between the two parties include employing the engineering competencies of Qatari engineers and resident volunteers in the "Engineers Without Borders - Qatar" program to support the field projects of the QRCS, organizing workshops and specialized training courses for volunteers in the fields of humanitarian engineering and disaster management, and searching for environmentally friendly and low-cost technical solutions to address urban challenges in humanitarian work areas.
