Doha, April 14 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has participated in the 41st meeting of GCC officials on Islamic affairs and endowments aimed at enhancing cooperation in these fields across member states.
The event was chaired virtually by Kingdom of Bahrain, with Qatar's delegation led by HE Undersecretary for the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani.
Senior ministry officials and representatives of relevant departments in the GCC countries attended the event.
The meeting focused on ways to enhance knowledge-sharing and integration among member states. Participants also reviewed working papers and proposals aimed at developing Islamic and endowment frameworks, improving their societal and development impact, and exchanging best practices in sustainable endowment management.
Other topics included a proposed GCC Endowment Week initiative, a competition to promote awareness of charitable and voluntary work, and plans to introduce a national index to measure the impact of endowments, aimed at improving governance, transparency, and efficiency.
The agenda further covered mechanisms for exchanging successful experiences, architectural identity in mosque design, and proposals for cultural dialogue initiatives aimed at promoting understanding and coexistence.
Officials stressed the importance of unified GCC approaches to shared issues, highlighting the role of Islamic affairs and endowments in serving communities and promoting moderate values. (QNA)
