Ministry of Commerce and Industry Hosts Patent Specialists
Doha, April 14 (QNA) - The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) hosted a group of patent examiners specializing in patent applications, in cooperation with the Patent Office at the Secretariat General for Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).
In a statement, the Ministry indicated that this visit comes within the framework of strengthening Gulf cooperation and exchanging expertise in the field of intellectual property. It is also part of joint efforts aimed at developing the intellectual property protection system in the State of Qatar and enhancing the efficiency of technical personnel working in the field of patent examination, in line with best international practices and contributing to supporting the environment of innovation and scientific research.
The visit program included a series of specialized technical workshops attended by staff from the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department and the GCC Patent Office team. These workshops facilitated the exchange of expertise among specialists, discussions of the latest methods adopted in the technical examination of patent applications, and a review of recent developments in this field.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry affirmed that these initiatives reflect its commitment to strengthening joint Gulf cooperation in the field of intellectual property, which supports the innovation and scientific research system and contributes to consolidating the State of Qatar's position as a leading regional center for the protection of intellectual property rights.
