Ministry of Endowments Inaugurates Khamis Ouwida Al Muraikhi Mosque in Rawdat Rashid
Doha, April 12 (QNA) - The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has inaugurated the Khamis Ouwida Sarheed Al Muraikhi Mosque in the Rawdat Rashid area, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand religious infrastructure in line with urban growth.
The mosque, built on a 2,500-square-meter plot and endowed by Saeed Khamis Ouwida Al Muraikhi, forms part of the Ministry's broader strategy to develop mosques across the country in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The facility features a main prayer hall with a capacity of 850 worshipers, a women's prayer hall accommodating 50 worshipers, residences for the imam and muezzin, as well as ablution facilities and ample parking. Designated parking spaces for people with disabilities and accessible entrances and exits have also been incorporated. A prominent minaret rises above the mosque.
The Ministry noted that its Engineering Affairs Department oversees the planning and provision of mosques and prayer spaces across Qatar, including temporary facilities, while ensuring ongoing maintenance in coordination with relevant authorities.
It added that the department is also responsible for supervising the design, construction, and maintenance of mosque projects and endowment-owned imam residences, in addition to maintaining a comprehensive database of mosques, prayer facilities, and personnel. (QNA)
