Russia, Ukraine Pause Begins
Moscow, April 11 (QNA) - A temporary pause between Russia and Ukraine took effect today, Saturday, and will last until the end of tomorrow, Sunday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a ceasefire order on Thursday, more than a week after his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, proposed it.
The Russian army halted its military operations on all fronts in Ukraine, and Ukraine agreed to abide by the ceasefire. However, Kyiv warned that it would respond "immediately" if Moscow violated the Pause.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously called for a pause to coincide with Easter, emphasizing that this occasion should be a time for peace and security. (QNA)
