Manama, April 11 (QNA) - Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper discussed, in a telephone call today, bilateral relations and strategic partnership between the two countries and ways to enhance them.

During the call, the two sides also reviewed the latest updates in the region and the repercussions of Iran's attacks on Bahrain and other GCC countries as well as its closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping, and regional and international efforts in this regard.

Both sides emphasized the importance of Iran's full commitment to immediately cease all hostile actions in the region and reopen the Strait of Hormuz in order to safeguard the global economy, international trade, and energy and food supplies.

The two sides also exchanged viewpoints on the Pakistan-brokered ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran. (QNA)
