Pakistan Prime Minister Discusses Ceasefire Efforts with German, Austrian Chancellor
Islamabad, April 10 (QNA) - Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held phone calls today with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker to discuss efforts to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
In a post on his X account, the Pakistani Prime Minister said that he had expressed deep concern during his call with the German Chancellor over the ongoing hostilities in Lebanon.
During the call, both sides agreed on the critical importance of adhering to the ceasefire until the negotiations in Islamabad between the United States and Iran yield tangible and lasting results.
In a separate phone call with the Austrian Chancellor, the Pakistani Prime Minister also discussed the importance of all parties committing to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, the Pakistani Prime Minister had announced that the capital, Islamabad, would host delegations from the United States and Iran on Friday for negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement. (QNA)
