OIC Condemns Israeli Occupation's Approval of 34 New West Bank Settlements
Jeddah, April 10 (QNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned an Israeli decision to establish 34 new colonial settlements in the occupied West Bank.
A statement from the OIC General Secretariat on Friday dismissed the move as a flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
It affirmed that Israel, the occupying power, has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and that all its measures aimed at altering the geographic and demographic reality therein are null and void under international law.
The General Secretariat warned of the dangers of escalating settlement policies, land confiscation, settler terrorism, and attempts at annexation and the imposition of purported Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
It stressed that these actions aim to undermine the two-state solution and violate the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The OIC called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards putting an end to all Israeli crimes and violations against the Palestinian people, their land and holy sites. (QNA)
