Egyptian Foreign Minister, Algerian Counterpart Discuss Middle East Developments
Cairo, April 10 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf discussed, during a phone call today, situation in the Middle East and the regional developments following the US-Iran ceasefire agreement. The discussions also dealt with the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, and its role in undermining efforts to achieve the desired de-escalation in the region.
During the call, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to ensure the success of the negotiations, solidify the ceasefire, and create a conducive environment for reaching an agreement between Washington and Tehran that would lead to ending the war.
The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultation in the coming period and to intensify efforts to reduce tensions and contain the situation. They stressed that political and diplomatic solutions remain the only way to prevent the Middle East from descending into chaos. (QNA)
