More Than 20 Drones Shot Down over Erbil in Northern Iraq
Baghdad, April 01 (QNA) – The Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, announced early Wednesday morning that air defenses successfully shot down more than 20 drones over the city last night, confirming that no casualties were reported as a result of the attacks.
Khoshnaw stated that air defense systems, along with aircraft, participated in the operation to intercept the drones, which contributed to completely thwarting the attack.
In the same context, a local source reported that explosions were heard in the skies over Erbil Governorate, resulting from the interception of the drones before they reached their targets.
These developments come amidst escalating security tensions, with assurances that the air defense systems remain fully prepared to protect the city's airspace. (QNA)
