Jordan's King Warns of Dangers of Expanding Middle East Conflict
Amman, March 9 (QNA) – Jordan's King Abdullah II has warned of the dangers of expanding the conflict by targeting a number of safe and stable Arab countries, stressing that diplomacy and dialogue are the only way to end the dangerous escalation in the region.
During a virtual meeting with leaders from the European Union and countries in the region to discuss the escalation in the Middle East, the Jordanian monarch emphasized his country's continued commitment to taking all necessary measures to protect its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.
He also noted the Iraqi government's efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
He expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the European Union to Jordan and the Arab states, and their solidarity in confronting the escalation.
He stressed the need for continued cooperation and coordination to protect civilians and achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire.
The Jordanian monarch also drew attention to the developments in Lebanon and the Israeli attacks on Lebanese territories, affirming Jordan's continued support for its Lebanese brothers in their efforts to preserve their security, stability, and sovereignty.
He warned that amid this regional crisis, Israel is seeking to fuel the ongoing conflict and continues its attacks on Gaza and the West Bank during the holy month of Ramadan. (QNA)
