Baghdad, March 09 (QNA) - Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein has warned that the continuing war could have serious consequences for global energy prices and economic stability, following a phone call with Spain's Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares on Monday.

During the conversation, the two ministers discussed the risks associated with the prolonged conflict, expressing concern that the objectives behind the continuation of the war remain unclear.

They cautioned that an extended conflict could lead to further escalation and deepen instability across the region.

Both officials also highlighted the potential global economic repercussions, noting that a prolonged war could exacerbate the international energy price crisis. Such developments, they said, could trigger new economic challenges worldwide.

In addition to economic concerns, the ministers pointed to the humanitarian consequences of the conflict, including internal displacement and increased refugee flows beyond the affected country's borders.

Hussein and Albares emphasized the need for coordinated international action, particularly with European countries, to develop an initiative aimed at securing a ceasefire and limiting the broader impact of the war on the region and the world.

The two diplomats agreed that diplomatic efforts remain essential to prevent further escalation and to address both the economic and humanitarian fallout of the ongoing conflict. (QNA)
