Cairo, March 9 (QNA) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Monday the necessity of an immediate end to all attacks on Arab states, reiterating his country's categorical rejection of any violation of their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of their citizens, as well as any threat or targeting of their security and stability.

In his address during the emergency meeting held by the European Union via video conference with regional leaders regarding current regional developments, El Sisi stressed that the national security of Arab states is an integral part of Egyptian national security.

He affirmed Egypt's unwavering support for its sisterly Arab states and their security, emphasizing the necessity of respecting their sovereignty, preserving their resources, and safeguarding the security of their people.

The Egyptian president stressed the need to prevent further escalation of the conflict, especially given its unprecedented repercussions, which will affect the security and stability of the region, the global economy, and energy security.

This will also weaken the international community's ability to recover from the negative impacts of pandemics and military confrontations in various parts of the world over the past years.

He emphasized the importance of all parties exercising restraint, working to de-escalate tensions, prioritizing dialogue and advancing the diplomatic process, and adhering to the principle of resolving crises and conflicts through peaceful means, as this is the right option for achieving the desired stability and security.

He stressed the need for all parties to recognize the serious economic repercussions of the current escalation in the region, the effects of which have extended to all countries of the world, undermining energy security, harming the security of maritime routes, and impacting supply chains and global trade.

The Egyptian president affirmed his country’s welcome of the important role played by the European Union in contributing to the peaceful settlement of various regional and international issues, especially the current crisis, noting the keenness to continue close coordination with the European Union, in a way that achieves the interests of both sides in light of the related common challenges.(QNA)
