Egyptian Foreign Minister, EU High Representative Discuss Regional Developments in Phone Call
Cairo, March 5 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty discussed regional developments in a phone call Thursday with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, amid the dangerous military escalation in the region.
Both sides agreed on the necessity of continuing coordination and consultation within the framework of the close relations and strategic partnership between Egypt and the European Union, and of combining efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region.
They emphasized that the diplomatic path is the way to prevent the region from sliding into further instability.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister affirmed his country's rejection and condemnation of the targeting of the Gulf States, Jordan, Iraq, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan, warning of the catastrophic and dangerous repercussions of the continued cycle of violence and the widening conflict, which threatens regional and international peace and security.
