Damascus, March 04 (QNA) - The Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs announced, on Wednesday, the resumption of passenger crossings through the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon, in both directions, following a temporary suspension earlier in the day.

In a statement, Director of Local and International Relations at the Authority Mazen Alloush said that the movement of passengers resumed at noon after a brief halt triggered by a warning received by Lebanon's Masnaa border crossing calling for evacuation in order to protect the area from the repercussions of Israeli shelling on Lebanon.

Alloush added that the number of returnees to Syria exceeded 25,000 people, amid intensive organizational and service measures taken by the crossing's administration to ensure their smooth and orderly passage.

The Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon has witnessed heavy traffic over the past 72 hours due to the return of many Syrian citizens to the country, driven by the developments unfolding in the region. (QNA)
