Beirut, March 04 (QNA) - The Lebanese Military has emphasized that it is constantly pursuing the enforcement of the decisions of the political authority in the nation, as well as exceptional measures to protect security, prevent armed manifestations across Lebanon's regions, and give the supreme national interest an overriding priority.

The move comes in the wake of the ongoing Israeli assaults on various regions across the country, concomitantly with the incursion of occupation forces into Lebanese soil in a gross violation of international resolutions, as well as a breach of Lebanese sovereignty.

In a statement, the Military indicated that its command continues combined coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), alongside the committee overseeing the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel to halt the Israeli assaults.

Military units are postured at some border points within the determined responsibility sectors amid the limited available potential, as well as enforcing exceptional measures to safeguard security and prevent armed manifestations in various parts of the country, the statement read.

The statement noted that, throughout the past two days, military checkpoints apprehended 26 Lebanese and a Palestinian in multiple regions who were unlawfully holding weapons and ammunition. It added that these items were seized and an investigation was initiated, with those apprehended supervised by the authoritative judiciary.

In addition, the statement pointed out that military units strengthened their deployment to the eastern borders in coordination with the relevant Syrian authorities. (QNA)
