Kuwait City, March 04 (QNA) - Kuwait has announced a one-month extension for all types of visit visas that have expired or are due to expire during the current situation in the country.

The Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Wednesday the extension will take effect from Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026. It added that the process will be carried out automatically through the electronic system, without the need to visit residency affairs departments, and that all associated fees and fines will be waived during this period in light of what it described as exceptional circumstances.

The ministry also said that residents currently outside Kuwait who have exceeded the permitted period of absence and are unable to return will be granted an automatic three-month absence permit through the electronic system. These cases will also be exempt from the usual fees.

Officials noted that the announced periods remain subject to further extension depending on developments in the country.

The ministry urged the public to follow its official communication channels for updates. (QNA)
