Baghdad, March 4 (QNA) – An Iraqi security source announced that Iraqi forces shot down a drone Wednesday evening that attempted to target Victoria Air Base, located near Baghdad International Airport.

The source stated that defense systems intercepted the drone before it reached its target, preventing any material damage. He added that the incident resulted in no injuries.

Meanwhile, a security source announced that security forces have begun procedures to reopen the Green Zone, which houses a number of government buildings and embassies, including the US Embassy.

Authorities had tightened security measures in the Green Zone following the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran, coinciding with popular demonstrations condemning the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. (QNA)
