Arab League Considers Continuation of Iranian Attacks Grave Strategic Mistake
Cairo, March 4 (QNA) - The Arab League reiterated its condemnation of Iranian attacks against Arab states, describing the situation as dangerous and a grave strategic mistake by Iran.
In a statement Wednesday, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said the attacks carried out by Iran are completely condemned. They are not only a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, but also an assault on the principles of good neighborliness.
They create an unprecedented state of hostility between Iran and its Arab neighbors, and are causing a deep rift between Iran and its neighbors, which will have a profound impact in the future.
He added no one is downplaying the devastating consequences of the war Iran is facing, but at the same time, there is no acceptable justification for its targeting of neighboring Arab states, aiming to drag them into a war that is not theirs, especially since a number of Arab countries have worked tirelessly to avert this catastrophic war.
This is a grave strategic error on Iran's part, he said, hoping that they will rectify it and immediately cease their attacks.
He continued by saying that it is extremely dangerous for the current conflict to escalate and for this situation to persist without swift correction by Iran. They must wake up and rectify the situation with all the targeted countries before it is too late. (QNA)
