Doha, March 30 (QNA) - Assistant Tournament Director of the Al Shaqab Cup, Sheikh Talal bin Khaled Al-Thani applauded the high coaching level delivered by the participants, noting the participation of a phalanx of the world's top-ranked show jumping riders in the tournament.
The club's contests wrapped up at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab- a member of Qatar Foundation.
Sheikh Talal said in press remarks that the conclusion of the Al Shaqab Cup represented a successful milestone by far, highlighting the State of Qatar's capability to organize major international championships in accordance with the highest standards.
The tournament showcased an integrated model in terms of coaching and organizational readiness, albeit being held without spectator attendance, which reflects the efficiency and flexibility of the equestrian system under multiple circumstances, he added.
For her part, the French rider Cyrine Cherif, crowned with the CSI5* Grand Prix 1.60m title, said she was glad to achieve this victory, affirming that her goal from the beginning was to win the title.
Cherif added that her horse was in top form, and the competition was strong among all riders.
Meanwhile, Qatar's Faleh Suwead Al Ajami, who finished second, expressed his gratification with the result, pointing to the strength of the competition.
American rider Kristen Vanderveen, who took third place, expressed her delight to ascend the podium, noting that her horse delivered a good performance despite a slower time.
The Al Shaqab Cup, held as part of the Doha Equestrian Tour, featured the participation of over 150 riders, with a total prize purse of EUR 784,000.
Launched in 2025, the Doha Equestrian Tour is a prestigious international series in show jumping and dressage, comprising 10 championships held at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, one of the world's leading equestrian venues, contributing to strengthening Qatar's position as a global hub for equestrian sport.
