Beirut, March 26 (QNA) - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has condemned the Iranian attacks on the Gulf states.

In a statement issued by the Lebanese government's media office, Salam said that the focus of Iranian shelling has shifted from Israel to the Gulf states. Official data released by the targeted countries, detailing Iranian missile and drone attacks, showed that 83 percent of these attacks primarily targeted the Gulf states, as well as Jordan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan, compared to only 17 percent targeting Israel.

The Lebanese Prime Minister revealed that the Israeli Defense Minister threatened to occupy the area south of the Litani River. He added that Israel has blown up most of the bridges over the Litani River in an attempt to separate this area from the rest of Lebanon.

This has been accompanied by the mass displacement of residents of towns and villages in the south, and the daily encroachment on land and demolition of homes to prevent residents from returning.

He added that these actions and statements, under any pretext such as a security belt or buffer zone, are extremely dangerous and enfangers Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the rights of its citizens. They also completely contradict international law, international humanitarian law, and the UN Charter.

The death toll from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon has risen to 1,116, with 3,229 wounded, according to the latest statistics issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.(QNA)
