Cairo, March 25 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, emphasized in a phone call Wednesday the necessity of containing the escalating situation in the region and intensifying communications, actions, and efforts aimed at ending the current war through continuous communication with all concerned parties.

During the call, Abdelaaty pointed to the broad economic repercussions of the military escalation in the region and the need for concerted regional and international efforts to de-escalate and end the war, given its impact on maritime navigation, supply chains, food and oil prices, and inflation.

He warned that the continued military escalation threatens regional and international peace and security.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international coordination to contain the widening conflict, emphasizing the need to prioritize de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue, and to work urgently to prevent the region from sliding into wider confrontations that could have negative repercussions on the security and stability of the entire region.
