EAA Concludes Third "Eid Gifts" Campaign in Spirit of Giving to Support Palestinian, Syrian Children
Doha, March 22 (QNA) - On the initiative of HH Chairperson of Education Above All Foundation (EAA), Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the foundation, in partnership with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), announced the distribution of brand-new Eid clothing to children in the Gaza Strip on the first day of Eid Al Fitr, as part of the third edition of the "Eid Gifts" campaign, which aimed to bring joy to children most in need.
Purchase coupons were distributed to the beneficiary families to give them the opportunity to choose the clothes their children like.
The distributions covered a total of 2,570 children from displaced and poor families in three main hubs, the Gaza Governorate, Deir Al-Balah, and Khan Yunis, a statement by EAA explained.
In addition to the distribution in Gaza, the campaign's efforts also extended to Jordan, where around 30,000 brand-new children's clothing items were provided and distributed to Palestinian and Syrian refugee children, reaching out to those most in need and bringing them the joy and warmth of Eid, in a reminder that they are not alone, the statement read.
The statement further suggested that the distribution reflects the generosity and strong spirit of solidarity demonstrated across Qatar by supporting vulnerable communities. Contributions from individuals and companies helped provide children with new Eid outfits, offering moments of happiness and emotional comfort during Eid.
As such, EAA and QRCS worked closely to ensure that the assistance reached children efficiently, supported by coordinated logistics to enable timely preparation and distribution.
CEO of EAA, Mohammed Saad Al Kubaisi, said: "The Eid Gifts campaign embodies a form of giving that has direct impact on children's lives.
It is not simply new clothing, but a message of solidarity that brings joy and renewed hope. We are deeply grateful for the support of the community in Qatar and for our partnership with QRCS, which enabled us to reach children in Gaza and Jordan and bring happiness to their hearts on the first day of Eid".
Managing Director -Secretary-General of QRCS, Eng. Ibrahim Hashem Al Sada, stated: "We are proud to continue to partner with Education Above All Foundation in delivering the Eid Gifts initiative, which reflects the solidarity of the community in Qatar and joint humanitarian efforts to support children in Gaza and Jordan. We saw the impact of this initiative demonstrated in the children's happiness as they received their new Eid clothes, which emphasizes the importance of sustained humanitarian collaboration to reach out to the most vulnerable people".
This year's campaign also received generous support from the private sector. Apparel Group donated more than 14,000 brand-new clothing items, valued at QAR 1 million, in support of the campaign's objectives.
Talabat and Snoonu also contributed through their apps, by enabling users to donate to support the campaign, helping expand community engagement and making it easier for individuals to donate.
