Defense Ministry Confirms Martyrdom of Qatar Armed Forces Personnel in Helicopter Crash

Doha, March 22 (QNA) - Qatar's Ministry of Defense has confirmed the martyrdom of several personnel after a helicopter crashed in the country's territorial waters at dawn on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry said the martyrdom of Captain (Pilot) Mubarak Salem Daway Al Marri, Sergeant Fahd Hadi Ghanem Al Khayarin and Corporal Mohammed Maher Mohammedhas been confirmed.

On a post on X, the ministry also confirmed the martyrdom of Major (Air Defense) Sinan Tastekin, a member of the Qatar-Turkiye Joint Forces, alongside Suleiman Cemra Kahraman and Ismail Anas Can, civilian collaborators of Turkish nationality who were aboard the helicopter.

The confirmation comes as part of the ongoing search and rescue operations, which are continuing for Captain (Pilot) Saeed Nasser Samekh, a member of the Qatar Armed Forces, the statement added.

The Ministry of Defense extended its deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed that God grant them mercy. (QNA)
