Arab League: Arab National Security, Indivisible, Iran's Aggressive Policy to Have Consequences
Cairo, March 21 (QNA) - The Arab League affirmed that Arab national security is indivisible, highlighting Arab countries' solidarity, coordination, and consultation in the face of Iranian attacks as being a reflection of their unified stance rejecting these assaults that have targeted infrastructure, facilities, and civilian objects.
In a statement on Saturday, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit welcomed Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan's visits to the Gulf states recently.
He added that these visits reflect top level, full Arab solidarity with Arab countries subjected to Iranian attacks and their clear and total rejection of these treacherous assaults.
The Arab League Secretary-General called on Iran to immediately halt attacks on neighboring countries in implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which was supported by 136 countries worldwide, and to refrain from any provocative or destructive actions or threats directed at any Arab League member state.
He also affirmed the right of countries to defend themselves, individually or collectively, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
Aboul Gheit stressed that Iran's persistence on this aggressive policy toward neighboring Arab countries will undoubtedly have long-term repercussions on future relations between the Arabs and Iran. (QNA)
