Gaza, March 15 (QNA) - Eight Palestinians were killed and others wounded today in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle on Salah al-Din Street in the central Gaza Strip.
Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah reported that eight people were killed and others wounded in the Israeli airstrike targeting a Palestinian police vehicle.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior in Gaza stated that Israeli warplanes targeted a police vehicle on Salah al-Din Street near the entrance to al-Zawayda in the central governorate, resulting in several casualties.
The Ministry reported that among the dead was the head of the intervention police in central Gaza, Iyad Abu Yousef, along with seven other police officers and personnel, all of whom were killed in the Israeli airstrike.
The death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip rose earlier today to 72,239, with 171,861 injured, since October 7, 2023.
Since the ceasefire last October, the total number of martyrs has reached 663, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported, adding that the total number of wounded reached 1,762, while the total number of bodies recovered from under the rubble was 756. (QNA)
