Palestinian Foreign Ministry Condemns Settler Burning of Mosque in Occupied West Bank
Ramallah, March 12 (QNA) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Thursday the burning of the Muhammad Fayyad Mosque in the village of Duma, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, by settlers at dawn Thursday, and the writing of racist and inciting slogans on its walls.
In a statement, the Ministry considered these acts to be a manifestation of the support and incitement campaigns led by the extremist Israeli government and an extension of the policies of genocide and displacement that support the settlers and sponsor their terrorism.
The Ministry held the Israeli occupation government fully and directly responsible for this terrorist crime and its repercussions.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to "take urgent and binding measures to provide protection for the Palestinian people and for places of worship and religious sites, both Islamic and Christian, in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem, and to impose sanctions on the occupying government, designate settler gangs as terrorist organizations, and hold the perpetrators of these terrorist crimes accountable, considering them part of an organized policy targeting the Palestinian people and their religious and cultural heritage."
Settlers had set fire to a mosque in the Arab Al Malihat community, west of Jericho, West Bank, at the beginning of February. (QNA)
