Egypt, US Discuss Escalating Regional, International Developments
Cairo, March 11 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Wednesday with Senior Advisor to the US President on Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos.
The call discussed the escalating developments in the Middle East, as well as the situations in Sudan, Libya, the Great Lakes, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Horn of Africa, in addition to the water security situation in Egypt.
Abdelatty affirmed the importance of aligning regional and international efforts to de-escalate and implement political and diplomatic solutions to contain the increasing tensions and avoid the expansion of conflict in the region.
On his part, the US official praised the pivotal role that is played by Egypt in supporting security and stability in the Middle East and Africa and encouraging political settlements to various conflicts.
He affirmed the commitment to continuous coordination and dialogue between the two countries regarding several regional and international issues of mutual interest. (QNA)
