Cabinet Holds Weekly Meeting
Doha, March 11 (QNA) - HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated the following:
At the outset of the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs condemned the military escalation in the region, the repercussions of which have extended to targeting Qatar's territory and some civilian and vital facilities.
His Excellency stressed that the security and stability enjoyed by the State of Qatar are a blessing, made possible by the grace of Allah and reinforced by the wise leadership of HH the Amir, the cohesion of society and its confidence in its leadership, and the efforts of state institutions and their national cadres.
His Excellency affirmed that HH the Amir has directed that efforts continue diligently to ensure the uninterrupted provision of services across all sectors.
In this context, His Excellency commended the role of the Qatar Armed Forces, which demonstrated a high level of readiness and efficiency in protecting the country's airspace and safeguarding its security. He also praised the efforts of the security services in maintaining the security and stability of society.
His Excellency further expressed his pride in the awareness, responsibility and cohesion shown by member of the community in such circumstances.
The Cabinet expressed its strong condemnation of the continued unjustified Iranian attacks on Qatar's territory and the territories of fraternal countries, in flagrant violation of national sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness, and without regard for the serious repercussions they cause to regional security and the global economy.
The Cabinet stressed that the State of Qatar will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and security, safeguard its people and residents, and protect its national interests, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, the provisions of international law, and the contents of its letters addressed to the UN Security Council.
It also called for an immediate halt to any escalatory actions, the prioritization of dialogue, and intensified diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis and preserve the security of the region.
The Cabinet then considered the topics on its agenda and made the appropriate decisions regarding them. (QNA)
