Oman Affirms Readiness to Transport Goods to GCC Countries
Muscat, March 10 (QNA) - Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology affirmed the readiness of the land transport sector to facilitate the movement of goods through Omani ports to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, supported by streamlined procedures aimed at enhancing trade flows and supply chain efficiency.
According to the Oman News Agency (ONA), the ministry said a package of logistical facilities and incentives has been made available to ensure smooth commercial movement and improve responsiveness to transportation and supply requirements.
These measures include allowing empty land transport vehicles from GCC countries to enter Oman to load goods, as well as enabling applications to be submitted through the Bayan electronic system via simplified and expedited procedures.
The ministry noted that these steps underscore the importance of transit (transshipment) transport in facilitating the movement of goods through Oman to Gulf and regional markets, supporting the efficiency of freight operations and the sustainability of supply chains.
It added that the initiative further strengthens Oman's position as an effective logistics corridor and a reliable commercial gateway in the region, opening new opportunities and expanding economic cooperation with neighboring countries. (QNA)
