Qatari Poets Featured at Damascus International Book Fair
Damascus, February 09 (QNA) - The Damascus International Book Fair has celebrated Qatar's participation as guest of honor with a poetry evening.
The event featured Qatari poets Mubarak Al Khalifa and Nasser Al Wobair, who presented a variety of readings exploring themes of pride, nostalgia, and beauty.
Al Khalifa opened with a poem dedicated to Syria, highlighting its role as the heart of Arab culture and its enduring vitality. Al Oubeir offered a symbolic poem about jasmine, evoking the fragrance of Damascus and sentiments of belonging and love for the Levant.
The poetry session included romantic, emotional, and patriotic works, receiving enthusiastic responses from the audience and reflecting strong engagement between the poets and attendees.
This year's fair includes participation from 35 countries and features over 650 cultural events, including lectures, panel discussions, literary evenings, and artistic activities. (QNA)
