Third Edition of HH The Amir's Grand Prix Shotgun Championship Kicks Off Tomorrow
Doha, February 05 (QNA) -The third edition of HH the Amir Grand Prix Shotgun Competition will kick off tomorrow, Friday, at Lusail Shooting Complex, and will run until 13 February, featuring 315 shooters from 38 countries.
The championship will include skeet and trap events across four categories: men, women, boys, and girls. A total of 144 shooters will compete in skeet, while 198 will participate in trap competitions.
The Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation has finalized all arrangements to ensure a distinguished edition of the championship, which will feature 52 shooters from the Qatari national team. All participating delegations have already arrived.
The tournament will begin tomorrow with official skeet training for all four categories, while official skeet competitions will start on Saturday, concluding with the finals and medal ceremonies for all categories on Sunday.
Following the skeet event, the trap competition for all four categories will commence on Monday with unofficial training, followed by official training on Tuesday. Competitions will take place on Wednesday, and the finals will be held on Thursday to determine the top three winners, followed by the medal ceremonies for all categories, marking the conclusion of the championship.
The competitions will be held across five ranges and overseen by 12 international referees, 7 from Qatar and 5 from other countries. All referees hold international certifications, and all rules of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) will be strictly applied.
The Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation has allocated prizes totaling USD 122,000 for the top three winners in both skeet and trap competitions. The first-place winner will receive USD 9,000, the second-place winner USD 7,000, and the third-place winner USD 5,000 in each competition for both men and women.
HH the Amir's Grand Prix Shotgun Championship, organized at the start of the season by Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation, serves as the best preparation for the Qatari national team ahead of upcoming competitions. It is also a major event on the international shooting calendar, attracting world champions, elite shooters, and Olympic medalists. (QNA)
