Doha, February 05 (QNA) - Under the auspices of HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force "Lekhwiya" Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and in the presence of HE Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Thani, the 49th Electoral General Assembly of the Arab Police Sports Federation commenced Thursday, hosted by Doha with a broad participation from representatives of Arab federations and delegations.

The opening session was attended by HE Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman; HE Secretary of the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and Vice President for External Relations Dr. Khaled bin Abdulaziz Al Harfash; in addition to heads of Arab police sports federations and members of the Executive Bureau.

On the sidelines of the General Assembly, HE the Minister of State for Interior Affairs met with HE the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.

The meeting discussed a number of topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in the security and police sports fields, in a manner that serves joint Arab action.

President of the Qatari and Arab Police Sports Federations Major General Khaled bin Hamad Al Attiyah affirmed that the Doha meeting, held concurrently with the celebrations marking the golden jubilee of the Arab Police Sports Federation, embodies the spirit of Arab cooperation and integration in strengthening joint police sports activities, contributing to security and reinforcing rapprochement among Arab states.
