Doha, February 03 (QNA) - HE Minister of Information of the Republic of Lebanon Dr. Paul Morcos said that the third edition of Web Summit Qatar 2026 was the standard for media summit that keeps with the times due to the clear blend of media, technology, and digital progress on display.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of his participation in Web Summit Qatar 2026, HE the Minister said that a highlight of the third edition was its expansion beyond media affairs to focus also on investment and technology. He noted that in the modern era, media was no longer an independent sector, but has become closely intertwined with technology and digital transformation.

His Excellency stressed the importance of leveraging the advantages of technology to develop media messaging, accelerate the delivery of news, and expand its reach, while cautioning against its drawbacks and emphasizing the need to strengthen media relations and link them to technological and investment progress.

HE the Lebanese Minister of Information described the summit as world class, combining the traditional and the modern and highlighting the role of technology as a fundamental element in enhancing the effectiveness of media work.

Regarding the objectives of his country’s participation in Web Summit, HE Dr. Morcos said that the aim was to build media and investment partnerships not only with government entities in the State of Qatar, but also with the private sector, especially startups and the investment community. His Excellency added that the summit provided an opportunity to invite investors to visit Lebanon and invest there, noting that markets emerging from crises and wars, such as Lebanon, represent a promising investment environment and a distinctive market moving toward stability.

In concluding his special interview with QNA, the Lebanese Minister of Information affirmed the depth of Lebanese-Qatari relations, noting the State of Qatar’s steadfast support for Lebanon during various hardships. His Excellency added that Beirut looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Doha in the coming phase, particularly in the media and investment sectors, and anticipated the emergence of Qatari-Lebanese partnerships as Lebanon gradually returns to stability, something Qatar has clearly supported.
