Central Bank of Oman Issues Treasury Bills Worth OR 13 Million
Muscat, February 2 (QNA) - The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced that the total value of treasury bills allocated for issuance this week reached OR 13 million.
In a statement on Monday, the CBO explained that the total value of 28-day treasury bills allocated amounted to OR 5 million with an average accepted price of OR 99.71 per OR 100.
The lowest accepted price was also OR 99.710 per OR 100, while the average discount rate was 3.78036 percent and the average yield was 3.79135 percent.
The value of 91-day treasury bills allocated amounted to OR 8 million, with an average accepted price of OR 99.053 per 100.
The lowest accepted price was QR 99.040 per OR 100 rials, while the average discount rate was 3.80041 percent and the average yield was 3.83677 percent.
The statement indicated that the interest rate on repurchase agreements (repos) with the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) for these treasury bills is 4.25 percent, while the discount rate with the Central Bank on treasury bill facilities is 4.75 percent.
Treasury bills are a short-term, guaranteed financial instrument issued by the Ministry of Finance to provide investment opportunities for licensed commercial banks.
