Kabul, February 27 (QNA) - The Afghan government has affirmed its readiness to engage in dialogue with Pakistan to resolve the ongoing conflict between the two countries, amid escalating tensions and cross-border clashes.
"We have repeatedly emphasized a peaceful solution, and still want the problem to be resolved through dialogue," Afghanistan's government spokesman Zabihullahآ Mujahid said during a news conference.
Earlier, Mujahid said in a statement posted on the X platform that Afghan forces had launched large-scale retaliatory operations against Pakistani military positions following airstrikes carried out by Pakistan in Kabul, Kandahar, and other provinces.
The border regions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have witnessed intense fighting in recent days, with hostilities spreading to several major Afghan cities, including the capital Kabul, marking one of the most serious escalations between the two neighbors in recent years. (QNA)
