Kyiv, February 22 (QNA) - Several rounds of explosions have been reported in Kyiv overnight as authorities warn ballistic missiles are heading towards the city.

 Kyiv City Military Administration announced an air-raid alert due to the threat of ballistic weapons, urging residents to stay in shelters until further notice.

The sound of explosions was heard around 4:00 a.m. local time.

Regional authorities reported that air defense units intercepted drones detected in the skies over the Kyiv region, renewing their call for civilians not to post photos or publish any materials related to ongoing military movements or activities.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

Since the outbreak of the war in February 2022, Kyiv has been frequently targeted by missile and drone. In recent weeks, there has been an escalation in the pace of nighttime strikes targeting military infrastructure and energy facilities in various parts of the country. (QNA)
