Doha, February 22 (QNA) - Al Ahli head coach Younes Ali affirmed his team's readiness to face Al Rayyan on Sunday, in Round 16 of the Doha Bank Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ali said that Al Ahli will seek to secure a win and will approach the game with high morale following their victory over Iran's Foolad Mobakareh Sepahan and their qualification for the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League Two.

Al Ahli head coach deemed the achievement an important psychological boost for the team as they look to regain balance in the league and secure the match's three points.

Meanwhile, Al Rayyan's Portuguese head coach Artur Jorge emphasized his players' readiness for the clash and their ambition to claim victory.

Jorge noted that it will be the team's first match in Ramadan, which will require experience to handle such circumstances, especially as Al Rayyan have other matches scheduled during the holy month.

In the press conference, Jorge said that his team are well aware that they will face a tough opponent and an excellent team whose remarkable continental achievements are unsurprising.

Al Rayyan's coach said that his focus right now is on his team, adding that their last three matches were very good for boosting confidence and trying to improve certain aspects for players and the team as a whole.

Jorge added that his team possess more than one playing style, which may change slightly depending on the opponent's approach. He pointed out that the technical staff and players had promised from the outset to compete strongly for titles this season, some of which are within reach while others are still further away.

He expressed satisfaction with the team's attitude and their pursuit of strong performances.

Al Rayyan's coach concluded by saying that the team is currently fighting for third place, with a strong desire to reach second place and chase the league leaders, noting that the team's true value is reflected in their continuous efforts to always strive for better. (QNA)
