Gaza, February 17 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), in coordination with Qatar's Gaza Reconstruction Committee, has begun distributing food aid to displaced families across the Gaza Strip, as part of the Qatari aid convoys entering Gaza via Al-Arish, Egypt.

Head of QRCS's representation office in Gaza, Dr. Akram Nassar, stated, "This emergency project is being implemented as part of our urgent response program to the increasing food needs in Gaza", noting that work is underway to distribute more than 224,000 cans of preserved beef to displaced families through multiple distribution points across the Strip, thereby supporting relief efforts and bolstering the resilience of the population affected by the war.

Dr. Nassar added that the delivery of this food shipment had been planned for some time, but the closure of border crossings prevented its entry, delaying its arrival to the beneficiary families.

He emphasized that QRCS will continue its humanitarian efforts in coordination with Qatari and Palestinian authorities to ensure that additional relief shipments are delivered and distributed in an organized manner to reach the intended recipients.

Since the beginning of 2026, QRCS has been implementing five relief projects in Gaza, including the distribution of food parcels, vegetable baskets, and hot meals, as part of its continuous support for affected families, aiming to ease their living burdens and enhance their food security amid the current humanitarian conditions.
