Qatar Society of Engineers to Host BIM Summit in April
Doha, February 17 (QNA) - Qatar Society of Engineers (QSE) will host the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Summit from April 5 to 7, 2026.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Society said the specialized engineering event, to be held at the Cultural Village - Katara, will place BIM technologies at the forefront of Qatar's digital transformation in the construction sector.
Chairperson of Qatar Society of Engineers Eng. Amna Mohammed Al Naama said the summit represents a strategic step towards fostering a culture of digital construction in Qatar.
She noted that the Society aims to create a professional platform that brings together key stakeholders in the engineering sector under one roof, translating digital transformation concepts into practical applications that directly enhance project quality, sustainability, and economic efficiency.
Al Naama added that the summit forms part of a broader vision to develop the engineering sector, improve the efficiency of national infrastructure, promote the exchange of expertise with leading international experiences, and accelerate the adoption of smarter business models based on data, digital twins, and artificial intelligence, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The summit takes place amid rapid transformations in the construction sector, providing a platform that will bring together decision-makers, international experts, technology leaders, engineers, and specialists for three days of specialized discussions and high-level presentations. It will also showcase the latest innovations reshaping planning, execution, operations, and asset management processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
According to QSE, the BIM Summit is not merely a conference but a comprehensive professional experience, featuring a specialized exhibition of the latest digital construction solutions, software, and technologies, alongside advanced training programs designed to enhance the readiness of engineering professionals and equip them with future-oriented skills. This, in turn, will contribute to strengthening the sector's competitiveness and reinforcing Qatar's position as a regional hub for innovation in construction technology.
The Society expects the summit to attract broad participation from government entities, contracting and engineering consultancy firms, real estate developers, academic institutions, and technology companies, positioning it as a benchmark platform at the regional level. (QNA)
