Katara Unveils Preparations for Ramadan, Embracing Spiritually Enriched Atmosphere
Doha, February 17 (QNA) - The Katara Cultural Village has affirmed that preparations are fully in place to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan, with its facilities retrofitted to host combined cultural, religious, and recreational programs.
This year's Ramadan lineup is diverse, combining the spiritual, cultural, and recreational dimensions, with the Drama Theatre in Building 16 hosting Islamic devotional songs throughout the month, imparting a distinctly spiritual character to the evenings. Meanwhile, theatrical activities will be held across Katara's various facilities, offering an artistic experience that enriches the Ramadan atmosphere.
As part of its priority for religious activities, Katara will organize a Holy Qur'an memorization contest for children at its mosque throughout the month, reaffirming its cultural and societal role in deepening spiritual values and strengthening the generational connection with the Holy Qur'an.
The southern area of the venue will feature the Ramadan cannon, representing one of the most prominent rituals that attracts wide public interest.
As part of its heritage and social events, Katara celebrates Garangao Night in mid-Ramadan, an evening that highlights time-honored traditions, as commemorating this night is deeply rooted in the social memory.
In addition, Katara's Ramadan agenda includes interactive tournaments and activities, such as a chess championship, alongside wide-ranging events and innovative exhibitions, which will be announced consecutively, reflecting the diverse experiences and preferences of visitors.
