2nd Round of US-Iranian Negotiations Wrap up in Switzerland
Geneva, February 17 (QNA) - The 2nd round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States concluded in the Swiss city of Geneva on Tuesday, without the disclosure of their outcomes.
In his remarks, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei highlighted that this round of negotiations was conducted indirectly, as in previous ones, and that they were mediated by the Sultanate of Oman.
Baqaei noted that this round of indirect talks began yesterday with preliminary discussions between Iran and Oman, during which the Iranian side explained its views.
He added that today's talks, however, were attended by both the Iranian and American delegations at the negotiation venue, with messages exchanged through the Omani side.
The 1st round of indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington began on February 6 in the Omani capital, Muscat, where the Iranian and American delegations exchanged a series of views, comments, and proposals through Omani mediation. (QNA)
