Turkiye Strongly Condemns Israeli Government's Decision Regarding West Bank Land Registration
Ankara, February 15 (QNA) - The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli government's latest decision pertaining to land registration in the West Bank, which the ministry said aims to impose Israel's authority over the occupied West Bank and expand settlement activities.
In a press release issued Sunday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that this step is null and void and constitutes a clear violation of international law, adding that Israel's latest decision, seeks to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land and accelerate Israel's unlawful annexation efforts.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories, adding that the Israeli government's expansionist policies in the occupied West Bank undermine ongoing peace efforts in the region and damage the prospects for a two state solution.
Turkiye affirmed that it will continue to support efforts seeking to establish an independent, sovereign, and contiguous Palestinian state on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ministry called on the international community to take a firm stance against Israel's attempts to create facts on the ground. (QNA)
