European Stocks Open Slightly Higher
Brussels, February 16 (QNA) - European stock indices opened slightly higher on Monday, at the start of a tranquil session, with no influential economic data and continued low liquidity due to holidays in a number of global markets.
The Stoxx Europe 600 index began trading up 0.28 percent, amid mixed positive moves across major sectors.
Germany's Germany DAX index was up about 0.41 percent at the start of the session, continuing the positive performance of blue-chip stocks in Frankfurt.
The British FTSE index also rose by 0.16 percent, while France's France CAC 40 index increased 0.28 percent at the open.
In the southern European markets, Italy's Italy MIB index was up 0.54 percent, while Spain's Spain IBEX 35 advanced 0.85 percent at the start of trading. (QNA)
