Germany, Palestinian FMs Confer on Latest Developments in Palestine
Berlin, February 15 (QNA) - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul met in Berlin on Sunday with his Palestinian counterpart Fareseen Shaheen to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and joint coordination mechanisms in the areas of early recovery and reconstruction.
Talks during the meeting addressed the latest political and field developments in the Palestinian territories, as well as the international efforts marshalled to uphold the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as part of enforcing the peace plan based on Security Council Resolution 2,803.
The Palestinian Minister affirmed that she is so grateful for the clear German position on the settlement, settler violence, and annexation plans. She praised Germany's confirmation to forge a partnership with the Palestinian National Authority, as well as its support for embodying independent Palestinian statehood on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, as part of the two-state solution framework to achieve security and stability in the region.
