GCC Secretary General Affirms Support for Efforts to Improve Conditions in Gaza
Munich, February 13 (QNA) - Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Mohammed Albudaiwi, affirmed Friday the GCC states' support for all international and regional efforts aimed at improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza, foremost among them the unconditional entry of aid into the Strip.
During his meeting with Jorge Moreira da Silva, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), at the Munich Security Conference, Albudaiwi stressed the need for urgent interventions, including support for basic services, addressing the situation of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and political action to advance the path towards a sustainable solution.
The two sides also discussed cooperation between the GCC and the United Nations in the field of projects and ways to support and develop them, in order to enhance regional cooperation and serve common interests. (QNA)
