New York, February 11 (QNA) - The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has closed the airspace around the border city of El Paso, Texas, for ten days, citing security concerns.

In a security notice, the agency warned that the federal government may use deadly force if a plane violating the restricted zone is deemed to pose an imminent security threat.

US media reported Wednesday that the FAA suspended all flights to and from the city without disclosing the reasons.

Flights from El Paso International Airport have been halted until Friday, Feb. 20, according to a travel advisory issued by the airport.

The restrictions cover a 10‑nautical‑mile radius around the city and extend up to 17,999 feet in altitude. The advisory noted that the order was issued hastily and that further guidance from the FAA is expected. (QNA)
