Syrian Ministry of Communications, Mastercard Sign MoU to Enhance Digital and Financial Infrastructure

Damascus, February 11 (QNA) - The Syrian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mastercard Middle East and Africa to enhance the digital and financial infrastructure in Syria.

The MoU aims to establish a framework for cooperation that supports capacity building and innovation in financial technology, and fosters entrepreneurship through training, business incubators, workshops, and advisory forums.

Dr. Abdel Salam Heikal, the Syrian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized the importance of this cooperation in developing the digital economy and modern financial infrastructure, and expanding access to secure digital payment services.

Adam Jones, Regional President at Mastercard, considered the MoU a step towards a more inclusive and prosperous financial economy. (QNA)
