Qatar Participates in Arab League Emergency Session to Condemn Israeli Measures in Occupied West Bank
Cairo, February 11 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of Permanent Representatives, held Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo, to condemn the decisions and measures adopted by the Israeli occupation, the occupying power, aimed at altering the legal, demographic and administrative status quo in the occupied West Bank through the expansion of colonial settlement activities, the deepening of annexation policies and the seizure of the occupied West Bank, and to discuss Arab and international action to confront these developments.
The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Thani.
The meeting was convened at the request submitted by the State of Palestine on Monday, to hold an extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the earliest possible time, in light of the recent aggressive decisions issued by the Israeli occupation government aimed at expanding colonial settlement activities, demolishing homes, seizing private and public lands, and transferring the municipal powers of Hebron to the so-called "Civil Administration" of the occupying authorities, including actions affecting the status and standing of the Ibrahimi Mosque.
